GomSpace announced on March 31, 2026, that it has received an Authorization to Proceed (ATP) from Unseenlabs, a French-based leader in radio-frequency (RF) maritime intelligence.
Valued at 815,000 EUR (approximately 8.8 MSEK), the agreement allows GomSpace to begin the immediate procurement of long-lead components for the next tranche of Unseenlabs’ microsatellite constellation.

This strategic move ensures that production timelines remain on track to meet aggressive launch schedules throughout 2026 and 2027. The announcement comes just one day after the successful deployment of Unseenlabs’ BRO-19 satellite (the 20th in its constellation) aboard the SpaceX Transporter-16 mission on March 30.
De-risking the Production Roadmap
The ATP serves as a critical bridge, enabling GomSpace to lock in key subsystems and hardware before a comprehensive contract is finalized, which is expected in the second quarter of 2026. By anticipating procurement needs, both companies are proactively addressing global supply chain volatility and ensuring the continuity of Unseenlabs’ “dark vessel” detection capabilities.
Unseenlabs’ technology is unique in that it geolocates vessels by detecting their RF signatures rather than relying on traditional AIS (Automatic Identification System) signals, which can be easily switched off to hide illegal fishing or smuggling activities. As maritime security concerns rise globally, the rapid expansion of this sovereign European constellation has become a high priority for both commercial and government maritime agencies.
GomSpace’s 2026 Financial and Strategic Outlook
This authorization marks a strong start to the second quarter for GomSpace, which is currently undergoing a significant period of profitable growth. According to the company’s 2026 market guidance released earlier this year, GomSpace is targeting a revenue range of 540 million to 640 million SEK, representing an increase of more than 30% over its record-breaking 2025 performance.
- Order Backlog: The company entered 2026 with a healthy backlog of 410 million SEK, providing a solid foundation for mission execution.
- Operational Scale: To support its aggressive expansion, GomSpace drew down 7 million EUR from a shareholder credit facility on March 30, 2026, specifically to fund strategy execution and scaling investments.
- Segment Strength: The Programs business unit, which handles constellation builds like Unseenlabs, saw over 100% growth in 2025, reaching 300 million SEK in revenue.
Executive Perspective
“Our long-term partnership with Unseenlabs is built on trust, agility, and a shared commitment to industrial excellence,” said Carsten Drachmann, CEO of GomSpace. “By anticipating component procurement and accelerating early phases of the program, we help our customers de-risk their roadmap and meet ambitious deployment timelines. This approach is deeply embedded in GomSpace’s DNA.”
