Over $4 million worth of Munters custom air handling units (AHUs) will be performing dehumidification at the future Eastern Processing Facility at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The custom desiccant AHUs will provide dehumidification required for the assembly of satellites to be launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The AHUs, which are forecasted to ship in August 2008, will be manufactured at Munters’ Buena Vista, VA facility. This is the second largest single order ever to be processed at this facility.
Each unit will be designed to meet NASA’s stringent needs, not the least of which is protection against the high humidity associated with coastal Florida. The AHUs will include humidifiers, dual desiccant wheels, specially coated coils, custom dampers, and other unique arrangements—Buena Vista, Virginia
