[SatNews] The recently launched RockFLEET vessel tracking system has been selected by the Seawork International 2015 organizers as part of the popular Innovations Showcase feature.
Developed by the Southampton, U.K.-based Iridium partner Rock Seven, RockFLEET provides low-cost vessel position reporting over satellite from anywhere in the world, and is part of Rock Seven’s technically advanced portfolio of tracking and communication products.
The ‘Spirit of Innovations Showcase’ at Seawork 2015 allows visitors and exhibitors to see the latest projects, products and vessels that ‘push the envelope’ of ideas and provide new solutions. Launched in September 2014, RockFLEET is a highly innovative and flexible product that introduces unique features for vessel tracking systems, including a built in back-up battery so the system can continue transmitting a vessel’s location even if there is no power on board.
RockFLEET is a compact and lightweight yet rugged tracking device designed for maritime use. With no annual contract and Pay As You Go use, it is designed to simplify and reduce the cost of single vessel and entire fleet tracking, supporting ship-owners to increase safety and efficiency through improved fleet management. It provides pole-to-pole global position data using the Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) capability.
Exhibiting at Seawork for the first time, on stand B67, Rock Seven will also present the benefits of using Machine To Machine (M2M) data connectivity to enhance vessel efficiency and safety. RockFLEET can be fitted with an M2M module, which enables electronic equipment on board to communicate with systems on land over the Iridium network. Rock Seven’s portfolio also includes the RockBLOCK system, a small, low-cost and highly flexible M2M device for diverse applications.
