China Set To Send Second EO Sat Skywards This Month

It appears as though China will be launching a remote-sensing satellite named Yaogan VIII in the coming days from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern Shanxi Province. The satellite would be sent into the space aboard a Long March 4C carrier rocket, the center said.


Yaogan VII satellite On board the launch vehicle will also be China’s first “public-welfare” minisatellite, Hope I, which will be used by the country’s young people to experience aerospace science and technology. Currently, the satellites and the rocket are in good condition, according to the center. The satellite’s predecessor, Yaogan VII, was launched last Wednesday from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern Gansu Province. (Source: China View)
