Emerging Markets Communications (EMC) has launched a new IP Trunking DVB-S2 platform service for the entire African continent. Benefiting PTTs, ISPs, GSM operators and Carriers operating in Africa, this new service supports Internet and voice trunking, with a guaranteed CIR (Committed Information Rate) and an additional bursting capability over the whole shared outbound carrier.


The EMC wholly-owned teleport in Raisting, Germany

EMC will provide the service through its wholly-owned teleport facility located in Raisting, Germany, using Intelsat satellite capacity and EMC infrastructure comprising of a 32m antenna, SDH Backbone and IP connectivity to more than 30 prime IP providers. EMC will supply and finance all the remote equipment in conjunction with financial institutions. EMC customers can now purchase as little as 4Mbps aggregate Up+Down traffic cross connecting straightforward to Tier 1 IP-providers in Europe—Raisting, Germany
