  • Alioscopy logo Alioscopy USA, a 3D visualization technology provider will join Autodesk, Inc. at IBC2009 and will showcase finished autostereoscopic 3D content playing on a proprietary HD LCD display, and will also outline how artists and technical directors (TDs) can use various editions of Autodesk® Media & Entertainment software to create and composite autostereoscopic 3D computer generated content for play-back on Alioscopy LCD displays. The autostereoscopic market is heating up, driven by the renaissance of stereoscopic 3D motion pictures and the emerging stereoscopic 3D broadcast market. As the leader of “no-glasses” autostereoscopic 3D technology, Alioscopy is building a community of 3D artists to address the industry demand for Alioscopy-ready content and templates. Industries ideal for Alioscopy digital signage display solutions include: retail, hospitality, medical visualization, serious games and 3D games, casinos and gaming, theatre lobbies, trade shows and exhibitions, concerts and events.

  • Digital Rapids logo w graphic Digital Rapids has released a significant new version of the Stream software for the company’s StreamZ, StreamZHD, and DRC-Stream encoding and live streaming systems. Available immediately, version 3.1 enhancements include support for Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Smooth Streaming adaptive bit rate technology; expanded format support including Sony‘s XDCAM HD422 system and RED camera files; and new features supporting downstream advertising insertion and aspect ratio management workflows. • Omneon MediaServer 2202 diagram Omneon Inc. has introduced their MediaDirector 2202 for the Omneon Spectrum™ video server system, designed to meet the growing demand for greater numbers of SD and HD channels, more network file access bandwidth, and a greater number of edit seats used in fast-paced production environments. The MediaDirector 2202 significantly extends the Omneon Spectrum server by delivering nearly an order-of-magnitude increase in total system bandwidth, enabling many more simultaneous real-time channels, and setting industry-leading IP file access performance. For fast-paced production environments where time to air is critical, the new MediaDirector 2202 has the bandwidth to support ingest, edit, and playout all in the same format and from the same file system, eliminating transfer times and ensuring that content is ready for air as soon as production is completed. The additional IP bandwidth of the new MediaDirector ensures that multiple edit seats can work simultaneously while new material is ingested or finished clips are played to air.

  • ViXS logo ViXS Systems Inc., a developer of video processing solutions, will integrate the Cryptography Research CryptoFirewall™ security technology into its leading-edge media processing system-on-chip (SoC) products starting with its recently announced XCode® 4000 family. The XCode 4000 family of SoCs is designed to manage, process, and securely distribute HD audio and video content throughout the home and across advanced audio and video consumer devices. Launched at IBC 2009, the XCode 4000 family of media processing SoCs are already being designed into products for a number of consumer electronics and broadcast markets, including STBs, Blu-ray players, HDTVs, Portable Media Players (PMP), Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, DVD recorders, and PC video products. A common requirement for all these applications is the need to protect and secure high-value studio content from piracy. In addition to the many security features already implemented in this family of SoCs, the CyrptoFirewall core adds a robust security block that can be used in conjunction with existing security and digital rights management (DRM) systems that exist today in the XCode(R) 4000 family. The CryptoFirewall technology is a self-contained hardware security core specifically architected to protect cryptographic keys in the SoC from piracy attacks even if the surrounding components or security elements are compromised. The CryptoFirewall core directly integrates tamper-resistant hardware into the SoC, and is designed to complement existing conditional access (CA) systems.
