  • Gefen 8x8 Cross Point Matrix Gefen is bringing two matrix solutions to IBC2009 — both support HD video at 1080p full HD/1920×1200 resolutions. Cross-point matrix switching allows a one-to-one or one-to-many delivery for more flexibility in system setup and providing greater video access.  A new IP control feature on both matrix switchers enables easy switching access over any Internet browser. The Gefen 8×8 Cross Point Matrix for HDMI v1.3 matrix delivers any eight HDTV sources to one, or all, of eight connected HDTV displays using the expanded HDMI v1.3 format. HD resolutions with deep color, and multi-channel audio with Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio are routed instantly from source to display(s). Source to display assignment can be controlled by IR remote or through smart control systems using the RS-232 connection. This rack mountable matrix gives installers a high performance method of integrating equipment simply and effectively. The Gefen 16×16 DVI matrix is designed for professional computer systems that need access to multiple computers from one or more high resolution displays using the DVI format. Up to 16 computers and 16 displays can be seamlessly integrated with the 16×16 DVI Matrix from Gefen. The rack mountable enclosure, IR remote and RS-232 capability make it ideally suited for today’s more demanding industry applications. Both of these new matrix switchers include an IR remote, local connection cables and an external power supply.

  • Snell logo Snell has announced that major Australian television network PRIME TV has placed the Snell Morpheus automation and control system at the core of its new multichannel content distribution and playout operation. Working in tandem with Snell‘s RollCall control and monitoring solution and terminal gear from the Snell Vistek line, Morpheus will provide complete playout automation across a vast service area with many different advertising markets and programming variations. PRIME TV‘s viewing area spans multiple time zones and covers a large portion of Australian regional areas including New South Wales, southeastern Queensland, Victoria, and the entire western third of the country. Viewer preferences vary widely according to demographic shifts; for instance, sports programs that are popular in one area may not be popular in another. In upgrading its automation system, PRIME TV needed a powerful solution that could take these complexities into account — with the ability to handle more than 60 sub-markets along with network program distribution. In addition, PRIME TV sought a turnkey automation system that could deliver all the necessary functionality for current as well as future needs, without requiring in-house software developers to create add-on applications.
