DAMA VSAT system for mesh satellite communication services to rural and geographically isolated areas. Applications: Rural telephone, data, fax services Technologies: SCPC DAMA Providing high-quality telephone, data and fax services to rural and geographically isolated areas presents challenges whether you are a public carrier, telephone company, PTT, government ministry, service provider, private carrier, or corporation.
The DAMA VSAT system will enable the HICAP network to establish direct, on-demand voice or data connections via satellite, and to automatically restore communications in the case of any terrestrial network interruptions. The system uses full mesh switching to minimize transmission delays between all stations. While satellite bandwidth is usually the largest cost component of satellite communication networks, the ViaSat VSAT system minimizes that expense through advanced DAMA technology.
“The operational reliability and flexible architecture of the Skylinx VSAT system continue to provide cost-effective broadband access for many applications for HICAP customers throughout Saudi Arabia,” said Jon Osler, ViaSat managing director for the Middle East and Africa. “We are pleased to continue our relationship with HICAP as our technology partner. They continue to successfully deliver advanced technologies and new services for the Saudi Market.”
“Our excellent relationship with ViaSat, combined with our in-house capabilities, enable us to provide our customers with advanced and cost effective communications, which sometimes are being introduced for the first time in this region of the world. Our customers are showing their satisfaction with our combined systems and performance through annual add-ons to their networks. We now run fourteen similar networks in the region,” said Sheikh Farhan N. Al-Faisal VP, Farhan Commercial Company and HICAP.
