Direct from the Pakistani Daily Times news service comes a report that Pakistani Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi
last Thursday inaugurated a satellite hub at the central office of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The hub will monitor the performance of the highway police patrolling posts, health centers, educational institutions and police stations as well as help establish a system of information handling. Elahi stated the Software Information Technology Park was being set up in Lahore at a cost of Rs 3.25 billion, that the project would generate 10,000 jobs and annual income of Rs 9 billion. The Pakistani government was also establishing an Internet City over 300 acres, which would meet industrial requirements and attract foreign investment in Punjab—Lahore, Pakistan
