A strategic expansion of MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. [TSX:MDA] Information Systems business in the United States will occur as the company has entered into an agreement to acquire Alliance Space Systems, LLC, located in Pasadena, California. Alliance provides U.S. Government and aerospace customers with advanced technology solutions. The firm also develops robotic and mechanical structures for use on a variety of space missions, as well as terrestrial applications.
Alliance Spacesystems will become part of MDA Federal. This is the subsidiary that includes all of the U.S. businesses of the MDA Information Systems Group. This transaction is expected to be completed within a year’s time and should close within a couple of weeks, always, of course, subject to required approvals—Richmond, British Columbia
