SatService Gesellschaft für Kommunikationssysteme is introducing at the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam their improved sat-nms LFRXTX L-Band Fiber Optical Links product that includes 10Mhz transmission. The sat-nms LFRX Optical Receiver and sat-nms LFRX L-Band Optical Transmitter are high performance RF to optical converters for analog multi-carrier RF (L-Band) transportation via fiber optical links. The commonly used 10MHz reference frequency, which is multiplexed on the L-band signal for a BUC (block up-converter) by a satellite modem, can now be transferred via the same fiber optical link.
The equipment is available as a 2-height unit 19” drawer, which can contain as many as 10 optical transmitters or receivers in any combination. Even "n to 1" redundant L-Band Optical Links are available. The equipment interfaces smoothly with the sat-nms Monitoring&Control and Network Management System and provides an Ethernet and a serial interface for remote control. There is local operator control at the front panel.
SatService Gesellschaft für Kommunikationssysteme has also announced they have successfully passed the acceptance test and have subsequently delivered the first Satellite News Gathering (SNG) Station to SRG idée Suisse Media Services, the Swiss Broadcasting organization, in Zurich. The station consists of a 1.0m diameter antenna with 50W output and enables the transmission of DVB-S or DVB-S2 signals. The system is designed to be independent of a van and can easily be mounted on standard roof mounts. The system can be locally controlled by 4 push buttons and can be fully remote controlled using the sat-nms NMS software—Steisslingen, Germany
