Any award with the phrase “… Of The Year” is significant for any company involved in our industry, whether large or small in size. Just awarded “Satellite Operator of the Year: Growth and Profits 2007” is SES [Euronext Paris and Luxemburg Stock Exchange: SESG]. This is the second consecutive year SES has been garlanded with this prestigious award from Euroconsult. The award is based on a performance analysis of a peer group and recognizes SES’ industry-leading track record in revenue and profit growth in 2006 and in the period 2004-2006. The jury based their findings on the increase in revenue, the development of EBITDA and EBIT, as well as on the evolution of the net profit margin.
SES’ revenue in 2006 increased by 28.4 percent to EUR 1,615.2 million. EBITDA grew 22.6 percent to EUR 1,080.1 million. EBIT rose 27.2 percent to EUR 605.3 million. The net income of EUR 435.8 million represented a net income margin of 27 percent. Euroconsult is a Paris-based consultancy and research organization that specializes in space communication and broadcasting.
