The company has signed a wholesale distribution agreement with CURRENT Group. The latter firm draws interest due to their Broadband Over Powerline (BPL) high-speed Internet service. DirecTV will use CURRENT’s technology to offer both VoIP and Internet service to their customers starting early next year. All that’ll be required is a BPL modem, which can be interfaced with any outlet in your home. Roll out market will be Dallas/Fort Worth.

Their just released Sonos System Software v. 2.3 will now be able to pump the SIRIUS Satellite Radio programming to listeners. Through their recent collaborations, both companies have worked to wirelessly stream SIRIUS throughout the house. However, the latter’s use of bundled services will start to make a difference, as satcasters must partner with other system suppliers to ensure a combo of various resources for the consumer that comprise what is known as “the triple play. (home phone services, Internet and TV)” . J.D. Power divides the U.S. into east, north-central, south and west regions. DirecTV scored first in three of the four areas. Their scores reflected high satisfaction with billing, cost, customer service, performance, promotions and reliability. Dish Network ranked among the top three in all four regions.
