On Monday, July 13, 2026, Texas-based ground segment manufacturer Sat-Lite Technologies LLC announced it has been awarded a $9,900,000 firm-fixed-price contract by the U.S. Department of War.

Formally finalized by the Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) in Maryland on July 10, 2026, the deal covers the delivery of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) motorized satellite communications hardware and related terminal electronics.
Terminal and Hardware Specifications
The procurement structures the acquisition of Sat-Lite’s standardized tactical apertures to support unique deployment platforms:

- Equipment Classification: Motorized tracking antenna assemblies paired with ruggedized positioner controllers and associated RF electronic components.
- Procurement Architecture: Executed under contract identifier W911SR-26-D-SATL via a single-bid solicitation process.
- Application Spectrum: Configurable COTS antenna systems designed to validate link margins and aperture performance within variable tactical networks.
Supporting Tactical Scalability
The multi-year agreement streamlines ongoing ad-hoc procurement, simplifying individual equipment purchases into a single purchase agreement for standard off-the-shelf products that support rapid development of capabilities.
“Our traditional OEM customer base uses our antenna products to deliver complete terminal and system solutions to commercial and government end users,” stated Chris Callow, Sat-Lite Technologies Vice President of Sales. “These COTS antenna sales allow innovative government projects to validate our antenna performance in unique applications that ultimately become programs and are supported at scale by our more traditional customers and system integration partners.”
Delivery and Order Timeline
Work locations and funding allocations will be designated alongside individual task orders as they are issued by APG. The overarching contract structure outlines an estimated completion timeline extending through July 9, 2031.
