Lunasonde has announced that former Outpost Director of Spacecraft, Andreas Rousing, has joined the company as Vice President of Technology, effective immediately.
Rousing’s experience spans several applications of satellite systems with expertise in hardware, avionics, and payload design; satellite systems engineering; and engineering leadership and management across several space companies. Lunasonde is the singular global commercial provider enabling resource exploration of critical metals from Earth and orbit for the benefit of Earth and space.
At Outpost, Rousing led a team of engineers in the design of re-entry vehicles. Before that, he was a Mission Program Manager and Senior Spacecraft Systems Engineer at Hedron, where he designed spacecraft for an in-space data relay network for space-based assets. Throughout his professional career, Rousing’s focus has been the design and application of systems in the context of space.
Lunasonde’s next 1U test satellite, Phoenix, is scheduled for launch in July, 2024, through PSLV. San Xavier, Lunasonde’s 6U satellite, will launch in 2025 via SpaceX Falcon 9 TR-14. Bisbee, Lunasonde’s first near-asteroid satellite, will launch in 2026.
