The new President of Boeing’s Phantom Works advanced research and development unit is Matthew Ganz. He will take on his new position starting on February 22nd. He comes to Boeing from HRL Laboratories in Malibu, California where he was the President, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager. He’ll report to John Tracy, Boeing’s Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering, Operations & Technology. Ganz held several other senior technology leadership positions with Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems, Navigator Technology Ventures, Charles Stark Draper Laboratory and at the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Jointly owned by Boeing and General Motors, HRL Labs conducts R&D for a variety of commercial and government customers, as well as Phantom Works, which is chartered to provide technology solutions primarily to meet the mid- to long-term needs of Boeing’s commercial and defense business units and open new business opportunities—Chicago, Illinois
