Sat-Lite Technologies Scales Executive Leadership Amid Multi-Orbit Market Expansion

January 14, 2026

WHITE OAK, Texas – Building on a period of sustained demand for high-performance ground segment infrastructure, Sat-Lite Technologies announced a significant expansion of its executive leadership team on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025.

The strategic enhancement of its sales and market growth organization is designed to address the increasing complexity of modern satellite missions, particularly those involving multi-orbit constellations and advanced electronic warfare.

The Texas-based manufacturer is positioning itself to better serve a global customer base that includes major defense contractors and commercial satellite operators. By adding seasoned expertise to its go-to-market structure, the company aims to solidify its reputation for delivering configurable and highly reliable antenna systems across the terrestrial landscape.

Strategic Appointment for Long-Term Growth

As the cornerstone of this initiative, the company has appointed industry veteran Steve Richeson to the newly created role of Vice President of Growth. Richeson is tasked with leading business expansion through strategic alliances with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners and top-tier system integrators. His mandate includes advancing initiatives that will sustain long-term growth across both the commercial and defense sectors.

Richeson brings over three decades of engineering and executive experience to the team, having held leadership positions at firms such as Mission Microwave, Advantech Wireless, Harris Corporation, and Scientific-Atlanta. Notably, he played a vital role in the global expansion and eventual acquisition of Mission Microwave. A Registered Professional Engineer and Senior Member of the IEEE, Richeson holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Georgia State University.

Internal Leadership Advancements

In tandem with the new appointment, Sat-Lite Technologies has promoted Chris Callow to Vice President of Sales. The promotion recognizes Callow’s extensive contributions to the company’s success and his deep relationships within the satellite industry. In his elevated role, Callow will continue to lead the sales organization in providing high-performance solutions to global partners.

Callow’s expertise has been instrumental in the company’s adoption of modern RF technologies. Under his guidance, Sat-Lite has successfully integrated compact, efficient hardware into its mobile terminal portfolios, ensuring that the company’s flyaway and manpack systems remain competitive in a market that increasingly demands portability and rapid deployment.

“Sat-Lite’s customer-focused culture and reputation for supporting top SATCOM system suppliers set it apart in the industry,” Richeson noted. With its expanded leadership now in place, the company is prepared to drive its next phase of global growth, focusing on the convergence of satellite and terrestrial networks.

Addressing the Multi-Orbit Shift

The decision to expand the executive team is a direct response to the “paradigm shift” currently reshaping the satellite industry. The rise of low Earth orbit (LEO) mega-constellations and the increasing demand for signals intelligence (SIGINT) have created a requirement for ground stations that can track multiple orbits simultaneously while maintaining high spectral efficiency.

”New applications driven by LEO constellations, Earth observation, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence are creating tremendous opportunities,” said Darin Beakley, President of Sat-Lite Technologies. Beakley emphasized that the reinforced customer-facing team, led by Callow and Richeson, will ensure the company continues to deliver the responsiveness and engineering excellence expected by its partners.

Engineering Heritage and Specialized Capabilities

Founded in 2006, Sat-Lite Technologies has developed a technical heritage rooted in the design and manufacture of high-performance, configurable antenna products. The company’s portfolio spans a range of mission-critical hardware, including:

  • Vehicle Mount/Driveaway Antennas: Designed for rapid response and high-reliability communications-on-the-move (COTM).
  • Full Motion LEO/MEO Tracking Antennas: Optimized for the high-cadence handovers required by non-geostationary constellations.
  • Flyaway and Manpack Systems: Lightweight solutions that meet strict size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints for expeditionary missions.

The company utilizes advanced 3D CAD software and finite element analysis to shorten the design cycle and ensure that every unit meets the environmental rigors of the field. By maintaining its manufacturing headquarters in White Oak, Texas, Sat-Lite retains full control over the quality and precision of its antenna systems.

Future Trajectory in Defense and Commercial Segments

Looking toward the remainder of 2026, Sat-Lite Technologies is focused on the “sovereign-commercial nexus,” where private manufacturers provide the resilient infrastructure needed for national defense initiatives. Richeson’s experience in navigating complex acquisitions and building OEM partnerships is expected to be a primary catalyst as the company explores new market segments and technological frontiers.
