WTA announces Provisional Certification of Saudi Net Link’s Khobar HUB Teleport in Khobar, Saudi Arabia

October 27, 2025

The World Teleport Association (WTA) announced that Saudi Net Link has achieved provisional certification of its Khobar HUB Teleport in Saudi Arabia, under WTA’s Teleport Certification Program.

The Khobar Teleport certification marks the 73rd issued since the program was launched at IBC 2015, and another 8 teleports are currently engaged in the quality evaluation process. The program provides transparent, independently verified standards as a means for teleports to differentiate themselves and for customers to choose the price-performance level suitable for their applications.

Rami Osman, Director of Managed Services, Saudi Net Link Co. Ltd. said, “At Saudi Net Link, our vision has always been to deliver satellite communication services that meet the highest global standards of reliability and performance. Pursuing the World Teleport Association (WTA) Certification is a natural step in our journey toward excellence and international recognition.”

“This certification reflects not only our technical strength and infrastructure readiness but also our commitment to continuous improvement, customer trust, and operational transparency. We aim to position Saudi Net Link as the first WTA-certified teleport operator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, setting a new benchmark for quality and innovation in the region’s satellite communication industry.”

“Through strategic partnerships, advanced network design, and a culture of professional excellence, we continue to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s role as a regional leader in digital and space connectivity.”

Certification is issued on a Provisional (self-reported) basis after completion of a +170-item questionnaire that is evaluated against standards developed by WTA’s Certification Committee.  The teleport then has six months to achieve Full Certification. To achieve Full Certification under WTA’s program, an auditor is dispatched to visit the teleport, provide independent validation of the data submitted in the questionnaire, and identify additional factors that may positively or negatively affect the score.  Full Certification is issued at a Tier number from 1 through 4, of which 4 represents the highest degree of excellence, and remains in effect for 3 years.

Certifications have been issued to teleports operated by IABG Teleport, A1 Telekom Austria Group, Hispasat, Gomedia Satcom, Azercosmos, Speedcast, Servicio Satelital, USEI, AXESS Networks, Space 42 (Yahsat), STN, Eutelsat, du, COMSAT, Nilesat, e&, Horizon Teleports, Telespazio, Vivacom, Cyta, PlanetCast, Globecast, KT sat, Singtel, Hellas Sat, Orange, Calian Pacific Teleports (Hawaii Pacific Teleport), SES (Intelsat), Globecast, SMS, PSSI, Telstra, Primacom, Santander Teleport and Arqiva.

Randall Barney, Executive Director of the World Teleport Association added, “Saudi Net Link’s achievement demonstrates how rapidly the teleport industry is expanding and diversifying around the world,”

“With the Khobar HUB Teleport’s Provisional Certification, Saudi Net Link joins a global community of operators committed to transparency, quality, and operational excellence. It’s encouraging to see organizations across new markets adopting the WTA’s standards-based framework to strengthen customer trust and elevate regional capabilities in satellite communications.”

WTA’s Teleport Certification Program serves both teleport operators and their customers by creating an objective, transparent, and internationally accepted method for teleport operators to document the quality of their operations for customers and strategic partners. It also provides a means for customers to select teleport vendors delivering the price-performance level that is appropriate for their applications. Click here for a list of certified teleports.
