During the upcoming MilSat Symposium during Silicon Valley Space Week, a panel discussion will inform attendees as to the Considerations in Augmenting Milsat Satcom with Commercial Services.

This crucial discussion will include U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command‘s Jeremy Leader and the panel discussion will be moderated by The Aerospace Corporation‘s Lori Gordon.
As the hybrid military/commercial communication enterprise evolves, and MILSATCOM systems integrate with commercial SATCOM capabilities, there is a crucial obstacle to overcome: the flight-proven paradox, an inertial hurdle which is keeping the government from leveraging more than a tiny fraction of today’s commercial innovation.
Lori will talk about national efforts underway to ramp up testing and proving efforts and unplug the roadblocks to deploying maturing commercial capabilities to space. Additionally, she can address how the new AUKUS exemption of ITAR restrictions can further unlock opportunities to accelerate commercial deployment.
