Satellite operators now have access to a simple launch reservation solution, aboard an accessible and eco-friendly hybrid rocket
Precious Payload and Canadian rocket company, Reaction Dynamics (RDX), have joined forces to offer satellite operators affordable, eco-friendly launches via the Launch.ctrl platform, using a state-of-the-art hybrid rocket, that being Aurora-1, Reaction Dynamics’ demo launch vehicle that is expected to make its first suborbital flight later this year.
RDX builds economically efficient and eco-friendly commercial rockets. The company aims to offer launch services to provide routine access to space for satellites and research payloads in the safest, most sustainable, and most affordable way. Its proprietary, patent-pending, hybrid propulsion technology meets the performance needed for orbital launch while being less expensive, safer, and more sustainable than traditional liquid rockets used by the vast majority of rocket companies.
Reaction Dynamics partners both with Canadian and international launch sites to ensure very short lead times. If one site is crowded, RDX can easily switch to another and get the payload into space with minimal delays. Its rockets are designed to be easily shipped in containers, either by air or sea, which gives even more flexibility when it comes to launching from multiple orbital inclinations and various sites.
Beyond simply functioning as a marketplace for satellite launches, Launch.ctrl templates for mission description and the workplace for team collaboration bridge the gap between payload engineers and an LP’s business development, sales, marketing, and launch-management teams.
Earlier this year, Precious Payload successfully introduced a new version of its commercial launch schedule and released individual pages for launch and hosted payload providers, their vehicles, and upcoming missions (with all available launch service operators including brokers, commercial spaceports, and OTVs).
