The launch readiness review completed, Arianespace could make it official — the second Ariane 5 flight for this year has the green light. April 18th is the scheduled liftoff date and was confirmed after the state of readiness of the Ariane 5 and its dual passenger payload of the Star One C2 and VINASAT-1 satellites was validated. Also prepared for the launch is the Spaceport infrastructure as well as the downrange tracking stations. The Ariane 5 will rollout of the Final Assembly Building to the Spaceport’s ELA-3 launch zone on April 17th where the final countdown will start for Friday’s liftoff, scheduled for 7:16 p.m. at the start of a one-hour, seven-minute launch window.
