Two additional research rockets will be launched by Iran prior to the country’s first domestically built “research” satellite is in orbit. So says Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, after ensuring all their first such rocket attempt earlier this month was a total success. Speaking at a 29th anniversary of the Islamic revolution rally, he indicated hopes are for the satellite to be launched sometime this coming summer. Certainly such banter continues to produce unease as the technology behind such satellite ambitions may also be used for more warlike activities, as well. Iran continues to develop medium- and long-range missiles, many with the purported purpose of furthering peaceful purposed satellites. Many experts believe Mahmoud’s positive voicing belies such achievements as actually having been successful. One can hope…
