Apcela, a specialist in high-performance networks, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the SmartSky Air-to-Ground (ATG) Network. This strategic acquisition combines SmartSky’s patented, in-flight technology with Apcela’s advanced networking platforms. This combination includes the integration of a new group of strategic partners.

By integrating SmartSky’s capabilities and Apcela’s advanced networking platforms, Apcela will launch a new aviation centric business that will provide high performance and security, ensuring that airlines, corporate jet fleets, and other operators have access to fast, secure, and scalable solutions in real-time, anywhere.

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals which are expected to be completed by the end of the year. Financial terms were not disclosed.
