A successful liftoff on a beautiful evening from Cape Canaveral for the STS-126 Endeavour mission was watched by thousands on NASA TV. After a brief halt which concerned a small door not having been “pinned” into place, all was “go” and the 4.5 million pound Endeavour blasted into space on its way to the International Space Station. This mission is the “home improvement” project for the ISS and will also involve four space walks.
