Baikonur Receives AMOS-3
Spacecom operates the AMOS satellite fleet and the company has announced that its newest satellite, AMOS-3, has completed testing and has been delivered to the Baikonur Cosmodrome launch site in Kazakhstan. In Baikonur, the satellite will undergo final testing and integration with the Zenit-3SLB launcher before its launch to the 4° W orbital slot, where AMOS-3 will join AMOS-1 and AMOS-2. Satellite developer Israel Aerospace Industries, Ltd. led the AMOS-3 construction process, overseeing the satellite’s design and production, which was completed in only two and a half years. According to the launch plan AMOS-3 is scheduled to launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome at the end of April 2008—Ramat Gan, Israel
