Space Systems Command Awards $44.9M Systems Engineering Contract to LinQuest

February 26, 2026

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced that LinQuest Corp. has been awarded a $44,924,742 cost-plus-incentive-fee modification to a previously existing contract (FA8808-19-C-0006).

The award provides additional systems engineering, integration, and test support for Space Systems Command (SSC). This latest modification brings the total cumulative face value of the program to $810,726,980.

Engineering Support for Mission Modernization

Work on the contract will be performed primarily in El Segundo, California, the headquarters of Space Systems Command. The funding, which includes $3.3 million in fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance funds and $6.2 million in research, development, test, and evaluation funds, is aimed at ensuring the technical baseline and operational readiness of critical U.S. Space Force assets.

The award aligns with broader SSC efforts to modernize digital engineering and assured communications. Concurrent with this announcement, KBR reported securing two task orders totaling $103 million to support Space Force capability development and a separate $77 million task order for AFRL and Space Systems Command modernization.

Sustainment of Strategic Weapon Systems

In a separate award announced the same day, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) granted Ki Ho Military Acquisition Consulting Inc. a $32.4 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract. The agreement focuses on the sustainment of the AN/FPS-117 Weapon System, a long-range 3D air search radar utilized for atmospheric surveillance. The contract includes provisions for program management, hardware and software procurement, and mitigation of diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) through February 2034.

Milestones in Space Ground Infrastructure

The contract activities coincide with a major milestone for Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (Rank 7), which successfully completed the Critical Design Review (CDR) for the Space Development Agency’s (SDA) Advanced Fire Control Ground Infrastructure (AFCGI) system on February 26. The AFCGI system is a unified cloud architecture designed to support real-time fire control missions for the SDA’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. Following the review, Kratos announced a proposed $1 billion public offering of common stock to fund further investments in national security priorities and targeted acquisitions.

Timeline for Integration

Engineering and integration work under the LinQuest modification is expected to reach completion by February 26, 2026, marking the immediate transition of the technical deliverables into operational Space Force frameworks. The Space Systems Command in Los Angeles remains the primary contracting activity for these high-priority space acquisition and integration services.
