[SatNews] An international assembly of space situational awareness (SSA) experts will gather on Maui from September 10-13 for the 14th annual Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance (AMOS) Technologies Conference. This technical conference offers an unrivaled opportunity for creating and sharing SSA research and technologies on a global scale. More than 120 papers will be presented including presentations from representatives of Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United States.
“The unexpected meteor incident in Russia was a reminder that we need to continue to unite efforts at finding and tracking the smaller objects in space. We are operating within a new global collaborative environment—where researchers from around the world are exploring new and emerging technologies as they relate to space,” said Sandy Ryan, Conference Director, Maui Economic Development Board.
The conference provides a venue for technical interchange on a variety of these space-related technologies including faint object detection, orbital debris, astrodynamics, optical systems, non-resolved object characterization, space-based assets, adaptive optics, and imaging. In addition to the technical sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a special Space Policy forum to hear current issues and trends in national and international policies that impact their important work.
The AMOS Technical Conference features a cross-section of military, contractor, and academic participation in the field of space situational awareness that is unmatched by any other conference in the world. Register prior to July 15th to take advantage of the early conference rate. To register and get updates on the technical program visit http://www.amostech.com.
