SUMMARY:WTA Webinar: The Year of the NGSO's
DESCRIPTION:WTA Webinar: The Year of the NGSOs\nProposed: Monday\, September 9th or Tuesday\, September 10th\, 10AM EDT\nBy the end of 2023\, Starlink estimated that it had more than 2 million subscribers around the world. In 2024 and into 2025\, its deployments and customer acquisition will go on at a record pace\, including growing penetration of business markets and spacecraft providing basic space-to-ground service to conventional mobile phones. The OneWeb service roll-out will accelerate. SES mPower will start service\, move O3B customers to the new network and gain new customers. And Amazon Kuiper will launch satellites and service. In this webinar\, WTA asks teleport\, satellite and technology executives the critical questions. How will the GEO operators – the mainstay of teleport connectivity – respond? How will it affect their teleport partners? How will the teleport business model continue to adapt to a market of verticalized connectivity? What technology innovations may preserve and extend their competitive advantage?

SUMMARY:WTA WEBINAR: SD-WAN FOR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE AND REVENUE GROWTH
DESCRIPTION:AND REVENUE GROWTH\nSoftware Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) architecture allows networks to combine different transport services into a virtual wide area network that adapts to changing availability and throughput. Widespread in terrestrial communications\, it is being greeted in the satellite communications business as a potential game-changer for its power to deliver high reliability and quality of service while making more efficient use of bandwidth. But implementing SD-WAN is not only technically complex\, it forces ground segment operations to adopt a digital-first mindset. In this webinar\, WTA explores with engineering and operations executives their tips\, tricks and use cases that demonstrate the near-term value and long-term potential of SD-WAN to generate competitive advantage and accelerated revenue growth. \nMODERATORS: \n\n\n\n\n\nRobert Bell\, Executive Director\, World Teleport Association\n\n\n\n\nRandall Barney\, Director of Certification & Membership\, World Teleport Association\n\n\n\nSPEAKERS: \n\n\n\n\n\nKartik Seshadri\, VP International Division\, Hughes\n\n\n\n\nKevin Tobias\, Director of Product Management\, Kratos Defense and Security Solutions\n\n\n\n\nFrank Czulo\, President\, Advanced Networks\, Network Innovations\n\n\n\n\nMichel Dothey\, Co-founder & CCO\, neXat

SUMMARY:WTA Webinar: Delivering Hybrid Cloud Services
DESCRIPTION:All the cloud providers offer privileged direct-connnect services to their main customers – but customers do not want to get locked into one cloud provider. That creates an opportunity for teleport and satellite operators to provide direct-connect access to multiple providers\, and to integrate their own data center resources into the offering to provide hybrid cloud services. They are members of SSPI and the World Teleport Association. \nA hybrid cloud architecture blends public and private cloud resources to gain the benefits of both. Teleport operators report that the hybrid approach suits their customers and their own interests best – by providing the right balance of control and confidentiality on the one hand and processing power and reach on the other. Executing a multi-cloud model\, however\, is difficult. That presents both a challenge to the operator and a high-value opportunity to provide a multi-cloud environment to customers. Int this Technology Advisory Board webinar\, technology experts relate their experience creating hybrid and multi-cloud platforms\, the opportunities they open up\, the technical and operational requirements and the pitfalls to avoid. \nSpeakers include: \n\nCristi Damian\, VP Business Development\, Advantech Wireless\nStuart Daughtridge\, VP\, Advanced Technology & Business Development\, Kratos\nDerek Strausbaugh\, Chief Digital Officer\, Defense\, Microsoft\nRobert Bell\, Executive Director\, WTA (moderator)\n\nLearn more and register

SUMMARY:WTA Webinar: The Teleport Opportunity for LEO
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, November 10 at 10:00 am EST \nEmerging LEO satellite operators are on the hunt for gateway earth stations in every region capable of supporting their massive bandwidth needs.  The first mover was OneWeb\, which hit a wall with its Chapter 11 filing only to re-emerge with UK government backing and push ahead with its initial plan for a 650-satellite network while winning approval for 2\,000.  Gateways are equally critical to the success of SpaceX\, which has orbited more than 700 satellites and has permission to boost that number to 12\,000\, as well as Amazon Kuiper with its approved plan for more than 3\,200 spacecraft and Telesat with its 298 satellites.  MEO is represented by SES Networks\, which will boost its 20-satellite network to 32 with the introduction of mPower beginning in 2021. A number of teleport operators have signed agreements and deployed LEO and MEO gateways\, and the opportunity for those with the right capabilities and attributes appears large. In this webinar\, teleport and LEO satellite operators will discuss the core requirements for a good gateway site.  Topics include unexpected challenges that arise at times from spectrum regulation\, the rising pressure for 5G deployment\, geography and infrastructure.  Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the decision factors that guide LEO operators\, their potential to gain gateway business and the likely value of such business. Speakers include: \n\nMartin Coughlan\, Business Development Director\, Telstra\nJay Bloom\, Senior Manager\, Project Kuiper Ground Systems\, Amazon Kuiper\nRobert Bell\, Executive Director\, WTA (moderator)\n\nLearn more and register\n
