SUMMARY:Aerospace Testing International Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Taking place in London from 29-30 September 2021\, the Aerospace Testing International Symposium will bring together aerospace component\, aircraft manufacturers and air-defense system makers to discuss technologies\, techniques\, and services that will reduce product development cycles and costs as well as improve performance and reliability. \nThe conference\, which will also feature a wide range of companies exhibiting their latest and next-generation aerospace testing systems and services\, tackles the fact that the industry has faced two great challenges in recent history: one being increased scrutiny on product-development procedures and the other being the need to reduce development costs without reducing performance\, durability or quality.

SUMMARY:WTA Members Brief: Ground Segment Market Prospects
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, September 23rd at 3:00 pm CEST \nThe downstream space market has witnessed a significant increase in the number of ground stations for the commercial satcom and Earth Observation markets\, with overall revenues forecast to reach $7.5 Billion by 2030\, driven by the rapidly expanding demand for data services and user terminals. Whilst the broadcast element has declined\, this is being offset by the growth in the data services segment. \nEuroconsult will share exclusive insights for WTA members on these revealing trends\, along with the impact of COVID\, making it essential to attend for anyone with an interest in main opportunities and threats in the ground segment market. \nLearn more and register

SUMMARY:WTA Webinar: Service Automation and Orchestration for Teleport Operators
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, September 21st at 10:00 am EDT \nIncorporating automation into a network can improve the performance and efficiency of time-intensive\, manual processes\, reduce staff workload\, remove the risk of human error and drive down costs for network operators. For a teleport operator\, automation is fundamentally about ensuring that potential hardware and software errors do not interrupt customer services. At the same time\, growing customer demands are driving teleports to improve their use of automation. The next step for many is orchestration\, the process of linking together a series of automations. \nIn this webinar\, WTA examines the growth of automation and orchestration of network operations in the satellite and teleport sector. We explore the extent to which satellite and teleport operators have embraced automation and orchestration\, the benefits\, the barriers and challenges it presents\, the opportunities it creates and what the future might hold. In researching this report\, we solicited and received input from more than a dozen teleport industry executives and technology experts\, who offered a wide range of viewpoints on the subject. \nSpeakers include: \n\nChristopher Boyd\, Senior Director\, Product Management\, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions\nGint Atkinson\, Vice President of Network Strategy and Digital Architecture\, SES\nWilliam Mudge\, Director of Satellite Capacity and Technology\, Speedcast\nRobert Bell\, Executive Director\, WTA (moderator)\n\nLearn more and register

SUMMARY:WTA Webinar: Five Things You Need to Know About WRC-2023
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, September 14th at 10:00 am EDT \nThe last World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC) in 2019 was a milestone for the satellite business. While the industry won narrow regulatory victories\, they proved no match for the desire of national regulators to find more spectrum for the deployment of 5G and expansion of 4G/LTE mobile. \nIn 2023\, the world’s RF regulators and companies will gather again to debate and approve international rules for spectrum use\, across all satellite service frequency bands (C\, Ku\, Ka). What will be discussed? What should satellite and teleport operators expect from the next regulatory round and what actions are available to them to influence the outcome in their favor? Join spectrum and regulatory experts in this WTA webinar to learn about the matters and issues under discussion\, their business impacts\, and the realistic options available. \nSpeakers include: \n\nLuis Emiliani\, Manager\, Spectrum Management & Development\, Americas\, SES\nDaniel Mah\, Vice President\, Legal & Regulatory Affairs\, EMEA\, SES\nCarlos Nalda\, Managing Principal\, LMI Advisors\nRobert Bell\, Executive Director\, WTA (moderator)\n\nLearn more and register

SUMMARY:Innovative CT and DR Solutions for Ever-Increasing Aerospace Demands
DESCRIPTION:Aerospace manufacturers have ever-increasing demands being placed on them – lighter-weight parts that are at least as strong; less expensive parts with more complex geometries; stricter quality standards; faster production times\, etc. Therefore\, the manufacturers are demanding better testing from their QA and NDT teams. As NDT solution providers\, we at VJ Technologies (VJT) are especially cognizant of these increasing requirements that are being pushed down as the aerospace industry continues to grow in leaps and bounds. It is on us to be innovative\, flexible\, precise\, and efficient with our offerings. \nRecent challenges we have had to solve have included inspecting a 4-foot rocket-motor with 100-micron resolution in 4 minutes to keep up with factory output; and inspecting a 3-ton rocket motor in the field before and after test without moving the motor. In this webinar\, VJT will demonstrate some of the latest developments of digital radiography (DR) and computed tomography (CT) to tackle these increasing demands. Topics like in-field CT\, multi-part CT\, automated inspection\, high-energy inspection will be discussed\, and various case studies will be shown.

SUMMARY:The Challenges of Managing Small Space Flight Projects
DESCRIPTION:The Challenges of Managing\nSmall Space Flight Projects\n\nby\nButler Hine\, Ph.D.\nNASA Ames Research Center\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbstract\nNASA Flight Projects range from enormous flagship missions that cost multi-$B down to CubeSat technology demonstration missions that cost less than $100K. All of these projects have aspects in common and aspects that are very different. NASA has steadily been moving from a one-size-fits-all approach to flight projects towards allowing a significant range of risk postures\, processes\, and mission assurance. This talk will go over the common aspects of all flight missions\, and the particular challenges of managing small\, low-cost missions with limited resources. We will try to answer the question of which type is harder to manage (and the answer may surprise you).\n\nS3VI encourages the community to submit questions before the webinar to enable more directed responses. Please send questions to: raquel.l.redhouse@nasa.gov. \n\nLearn more and connect to this webinarv
