Precision Aviation Group, Inc. Recently the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandated that airlines have SMS equipment in place on aircraft by 2018. According to an FAA statistic in a written release on January 8, 2015, “123 accidents between 2001 and 2010 could have been identified beforehand if airlines had safety management systems in place.” The Guardian line of SMS products meets the criteria for the 2018 mandate.
