[SatNews] Hermes Datacomms, a global provider of managed networks for the upstream oil and gas industry and part of the SpeedCast Group, announces the opening of its newest office in Erbil, Iraq. The new facility is in direct response to increasing demand for services from the oil and gas sector in Iraq and will enable the SpeedCast Group to deliver a higher level of service and support in this rapidly growing market.

Hermes Datacomms has over 25 years experience in providing global satellite communication and networking services to the oil and gas industry. Hermes has been operating in the Middle East for over 10 years. In 2011, the company was awarded a trading license for Iraq and since then has been working with partners to deliver turnkey projects involving fiber and last-mile access as well as VSAT services, fixed, mobile and microwave services.

Hermes Datacomms currently provides communications to 16 sites, supporting major operators and service companies in the region.
