[SatNews] Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has introduced a new wet tantalum high-energy capacitor with low maximum ESR down to 0.025 Ω at +25 °C and 1kHz, and the highest capacitance of any similar device on the market. Manufactured to withstand high stress and hazardous environments, the HE4 features a unique case design for improved reliability and performance in aerospace and military applications.
The HE4 uses Vishay’s proven SuperTan® hybrid cathode technology in combination with industry-leading anode designs to achieve its low ESR. Optimized for energy-storage and pulse-power applications, the device is housed in an all-tantalum, hermetically sealed case featuring a double seal for increased reliability. This capacitor combines its robust design with an ultra-high capacitance range from 1100 µF to 72000 µF, the highest capacitance per unit volume of any wet tantalum capacitor. Offered in the A, B, and C case codes, the HE4 operates over a temperature range of -55 °C to +85 °C (to +125 °C with voltage derating) and features a ± 20 % standard capacitance tolerance at 120 Hz and +25 °C, with tolerances of ± 10 percent also available.
