[SatNews] Data Physics Corporation has announced availability of the latest release of SignalStar Vibration Controller software. SignalStar Vibration Controllers are full featured vibration controllers capable of performing closed-loop vibration and shock tests for environmental and performance testing in single or multiple axes.
Vibration testing is commonly performed using an electrodynamic or hydraulic shaker to simulate transportation and operation conditions on products, components and sub-systems. Electronics are particularly susceptible to failure from shock and vibration, and often require extensive testing. Manufacturers ranging from avionics to consumer electronics routinely perform shock and vibration testing.
SignalStar Vibration Controllers have consistently set the leading edge of controller technology for realtime closed-loop dynamic control and signal replication. There are three different SignalStar systems available: the Scalar controller for low channel count basic applications, the Vector controller for applications up to 32 input channels and the Matrix controller for high channel count and multishaker control applications. The latest version of SignalStar software, version 2.4, contains many fixes, new features and improvements. Noteworthy software enhancements include:
- Significant improvements to multishaker control capabilities including feasibility checks and improved sequence transitions in time replication
- Shock Response Spectrum Synthesis now supports “true” damped sines in addition to ZERD (Zero Residual Displacement) damped sines
- Numerous small usability enhancements. For example, copy and paste of cell contents from a spreadsheet can now be used to enter profiles
The SignalStar Vibration Control software update is available free of charge to all current users that are under warranty or support, and the software is provided as part of any future SignalStar controller purchases.
