ASTON Is beIN A Good Sport (FRANSAT Satellite)

January 24, 2013

[SatNews] Football fans are particularly well catered for: viewers can follow all French League 1 and League 2 matches, not to mention all UEFA Champions League matches.

Partnering with beIN Sport, ASTON breaks new ground with a range of packages, incorporating prepaid access to both the beIN Sport 1 and beIN Sport 2 channels. A first in premium sport content for the French Pay TV market.

In the company’s continual strive to come up with products that break new ground, ASTON offers a range of three packages, each comprising a FRANSAT approved HD/3D satellite receiver with prepaid access pass to premium channels beIN Sport 1 and beIN Sport 2. The launch of the range coincides with return-to-play for France’s premier league season on 11 January and the arrival of 6 new terrestrial HD channels, available from 12 December 2012 as part of FRANSAT’s offering and which will be free to access with these 3 new packages.

With its own R&D teams, ASTON designs, develops and manufactures products offering a combination of technology, design and ergonomics. Central to the company’s strategy is to develop offerings with high added value. And so as part of that philosophy, the company has decided to bundle its receivers with premium content offerings that are both attractive to the consumer and pioneering in their access mode.

The partnership between ASTON and beIN Sport is the first embodiment of this new strategic focus: ASTON offers a range of HD satellite receivers bundled with a subscription-free 4 month prepaid access pass allowing the consumer to enjoy premium channels beIN Sport 1 and beIN Sport 2, running over the FRANSAT platform (Eutlsat 5 West A satellite). Both of these channels are fully dedicated to HD sports coverage, broadcast round the clock, 7 days a week, allowing fans to follow all the major events in a wide range of sports: football, boxing, basketball, rugby, handball, NBA and NFL events etc. Football fans are particularly well catered for: viewers can follow all French League 1 and League 2 matches, not to mention all UEFA Champions League matches, complete coverage of the UEFA Europa League, La Liga and a whole host of other championships.

“This new offering is the result of a genuine partnership between beIN Sport and ASTON, and we are sure that given the market demand for flexible-access, value-added content, this new means of marketing content to viewers with no obligation to commit will provide a fresh boost to the Pay TV market. We are already working on further groundbreaking offers, both in terms of content and mode of access, which will come out during the first half of 2013”, reports ASTON CEO, Stéphane Nitenberg.

Right from its launch of the beIN Sport offering over the FRANSAT platform, ASTON is offering a range of 3 packages and hence real choice to consumers. Both channels, beIN Sport 1 and beIN Sport 2, are offered to consumers at 11€/month. The ASTON beIN Sport bundle includes a 4 month prepaid access pass, with 2 months free of charge. These HD satellite receivers are FRANSAT approved and therefore include access to all channels carried on the FRANSAT platform. Consumers can therefore enjoy a full range of HD programming, with access to 6 new HD DTT free-to-air channels available on FRANSAT platform since 12 December 2012. The ASTON beIN Sport range of receivers also comes with advanced, fully-featured functionality, along with a unique and modern design.
