[SatNews] This scholarship should come in rather handy as the award winner plans to attend Stanford next year…
KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) has named Miss Mersina Simanski of Middletown, RI, as the recipient of its 2011 Arent Kits van Heyningen Technology Scholarship. Miss Simanski, a graduate of Middletown High School, will begin her civil and environmental engineering studies at Stanford University in the fall of 2011. She is the most recent recipient of the $1,000 scholarship, which is awarded annually to a deserving Aquidneck Island high school senior attending a 4-year engineering or math program beginning the following fall. This year, the scholarship was renamed in honor of Mr. Arent Kits van Heyningen, KVH’s late cofounder, Chairman Emeritus, and chief scientist, who played an integral part in choosing KVH’s first three technology scholars before his passing in May 2011.
