[SatBroadcasting(tm)] Encompass Digital Media, Inc., which operates two of the largest, independent broadcast facilities in the U.S. located in Los Angeles and Atlanta, announces its live coverage of NASA’s shuttle launches through 2011 from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL. Selected by United Space Alliance for primary uplink services, Encompass will provide video transmission of the final U.S. shuttle missions via three Ku-band trucks with locations in Florida at Cape Canaveral and Jupiter, and Wallops Island, VA. This coverage allows officials to evaluate the condition of the orbiter’s thermal protection system to ensure it is safe to support reentry and landing. Total media solutions offered by the Company include network origination; cable neighborhood platforms (G-13, G-17, G-23, AMC-10, AMC-11 and AMC-18); centralcasting; disaster recovery; satellite and fiber transmissions (full time and occasional use); a fleet of satellite uplink trucks; digital media encoding services; digital file transfers via satellite, fiber and IP; emergency communications; governmental SATCOM; production studios; and video production services.
