[SatNews] EMS Global Tracking, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc., has named Simon van den Dries as the Company’s vice president of Global Sales, reporting to Dino Koutrouki, general manager. He will oversee sales operations for both direct and indirect sales in the division’s eight global regions, focusing on key markets, including Government & Military, Transport and Energy. EMS Global Tracking is a leader in tracking and enhancing the security of people and assets in remote or insecure areas. Simon van den DriesVan brings to his role more than a decade of experience in sales from both the telematics and satellite industries. He previously led commercial sales for General Electric`s GE Asset Intelligence business unit in Europe, managing the European sales organization for GE’s Telematics Service Provider. Prior to his work with GE, van den Dries held senior international sales roles with SES, the world’s largest satellite operator, managing 50 fully-owned geostationary satellites, where he led new sales and marketing initiatives for the Africa Region, Spain, Benelux and Italy. He also held European sales roles with global telecom hardware maker Nortel Networks and Dutch IT integrator Detron Telecommunications in the Far East.
