[SatBroadcasting™] On display at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo(r) will be the new SENCORE TXS 3453, a high-performance transcoding platform delivering multiple channels of best-in-class transcoding in a reliable, high-density 1RU chassis. Relying on a configurable engine and multichannel architecture, users can perform SD and HD transcoding along with the ability to convert VBR to CBR or CBR to VBR at an unbeatable cost per channel. Key features include bidirectional video transcoding from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4/H.264 and/or H.264 to MPEG-2 in all common HD or SD formats, as well as ASI and IP transport stream and optional RF interfaces. The TXS 3453 offers up to 16 channels, providing cable operators with a uniquely cost-effective solution for transcoding from H.264 to MPEG-2 for use in legacy RF distribution networks.
Also on display will be SENCORE’s Digital Media Gateway line of multiplexers, with newly added 16 QAM channel output module to its line of IP, ASI, and RF capabilities. This new 16-channel module provides enhanced density for digital cable deployments. When multiple QAM modules are placed within a chassis, hundreds of channels can be deployed from a single chassis with the ability to multiplex and descramble, which is currently offered in the DMG product. The DMG 3000 has the ability to receive DVB-S/S2 Satellite, 8VSB off-air, ASI, and IP signals for providing multiplexed IP, ASI, and now QAM outputs.
Also on display will be the SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 Modulator, packaged in a two-channel 1RU chassis, offers unprecedented modulation efficiency and flexibility in performing modulation of two independent DVB-S2 RF transmissions. The platform provides multistream satellite video delivery, minimizing overall transponder usage, and accepts transport streams via DVB-ASI or IP inputs using the UDP or RTP protocols. More SMD 989 DVB-S2 features include an optional agile L-band upconverter with output frequency range of 950 to 2150 MHz, support for all modulation formats defined in the DVB-S2 standard, and optional multistream inputs along with an agile RF upconverter.
