AsiaSat… Moving On Up… Jackson Retiring As CEO…

Asia Satellite Telecommunications Holdings Limited (AsiaSat – SEHK : 1135) announced today that Peter Jackson will retire as Chief Executive Officer on July 31 .2010 — he will be appointed as Executive Chairman on August 1, 2010, and remain as Executive Director of AsiaSat until July 31, 2011. Mr. Jackson, in his new capacity as Executive Chairman and his continuing role as Executive Director of AsiaSat, will maintain his strategic involvement in steering the company’s success.

William Wade, currently Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of AsiaSat, will be appointed by the Board to succeed Mr. Jackson as Chief Executive Officer, effective starting on August 1, 2010. Mr. Wade has been the Executive Director and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AsiaSat since May 1996, having served in that position since April 1994t. Mr. Wade has more than 25 years of experience in the satellite and cable television industry. He speaks Mandarin and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Communications from the University of Utah and a Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird (the Global School of International Management).
