Intelsat + Turksat — Capacity Confluence

Intelsat S.A. now has an agreement with Turksat A.S. for enhanced satellite capacity serving the Middle East region. The agreement provides Turksat with satellite capacity on the Intelsat system while Turksat finalizes details of its new satellite.

In addition, Intelsat will have the option to participate with Turksat in its plans for continued growth in this strategic region. In describing this important step in the longstanding relationship between the two companies, Phillip Spector, Intelsat’s Executive Vice President, Business Development, said, “Global partnering is an important aspect of our growth program, and Turksat is an attractive partner with a heritage of serving its country and the region for nearly 20 years. Turksat A.S. is the only satellite operator company in Turkey and manages and operates three satellites (Turksat 1C, Turksat 2A, Turksat 3A) and provides all types of satellite communications through Turksat and other satellites. Turksat provides services for Turkey and customers throughout Eurasia and the MENA region.
