The City of San Diego is requesting bids from companies who can furnish the city with Cisco Systems Equipment and a TracStar Mobile Satellite System for a Mobile 1 Command Vehicle. The installation should also include Cisco Hardware Warranty Support, TracStar Mobile Satellite Service, Installation, and Factory Training. This system shall be installed into the City of San Diego’s mobile command vehicle, which is a 42-foot MT55 Freightliner command vehicle. The System will provide the City with the ability to prevent, respond to, and recover from terrorist incidents and regional disasters by enhancing the City’s ability to communicate with each other when primary landline and cellular systems are disabled, overloaded or diminished. This ability will also allow for a more timely recovery from an incident or disaster. This System, along with the Mobile 1 vehicle, will be made available for Mutual Aid consistent with established regional standards. CLOSING DATE: July 19, 2009.
