Dastardly Debris & The WorldView-2 Satellite

Space News is reporting that, according to the US Air Force, a DigitalGlobe imagery satellite was involved in what has been described as a debris-causing event.

This occurrence was on July 19th—DigitalGlobe is stating that the WorldView-2 satellite remains operational. In fact, to prove that point, an image of downtown Oakland, California, was released as captured by that satellite at 5:09 p.m. on the 19th. WorldView-2 offers 46 centimeter resolution imagery to both government and commercial customers.
