Performance Packed AtlanTecRF Synthesizer Debuts in a Compact Form Factor

AtlanTecRF has launched their miniature 0.5-20.0GHz frequency ASY synthesizer with GUI.

Minimum set-up and easy operation are key features of this new, compact synthesizer, designated ASY-0050-2000, covering the full 0.5 to 20.0GHz range. In addition to the ultra broadband range the 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.1 inch housing is packed with performance including 1KHz step size, +/-0.5ppm frequency stability over a -10 to +70 degree C operating temperature range and RS485 control with easy-to-use GUI.

As an option to the internal TXCO reference, units can be supplied with an input for an external 10MHz system reference of 0+/-3dBm and with which the synthesizer takes on the system frequency stability. In terms of spectral purity, this new model boasts typical phase noise of -85dBc/Hz at 10Hz offset in the 500MHz end of its spectrum and -120dBc/Hz at 10MHz offset at the opposite 20GHz end.

The ASY-0050-2000 operates from a +5.0V DC supply, drawing just 1amp of current. Frequency switching time is 5 milliseconds maximum and there is a PLL lock alarm of TTL high for locked. The RF output and reference input connectors are SMA female and DC connection is via robust solder filtercons.

Speaking at the product's launch at AtlanTecRF's design and development labs in Braintree, UK, Geoff Burling, C.E.O., stated that this really is a very exciting development in the firm's miniature synthesizer product offering, which we expect to be attractive to system designers in test and measurement, in electronic countermeasures and in a whole range of terrestrial and satellite communications applications.
