Sharing a Teleport — Media Broadcast Services and NorthTelecom

Media Broadcast Satellite has cemented an agreement with NorthTelecom into place — the agreement will enable NorthTelecom to operate at the teleport in Usingen.

This was announced by both companies just before IBC2017 in Amsterdam started — Media Broadcast Satellite will exhibit at stand 1.B79.

The long-term agreement covers infrastructure services for NorthTelecom to set-up a co-located teleport for data and broadcasting at Usingen, combined with rack, housing and office space. NorthTelecom selected Media Broadcast Satellite’s engineering and expertise, including monitoring and maintenance services, to ensure smooth operation. The agreement also includes redundant fiber connectivity for high availability. Furthermore, the companies will benefit from the mutually shared use of their operational antenna infrastructure and technology know-how at teleport Usingen.

Christian Fleischhauer, Managing Director of Media Broadcast Satellite GmbH, said that high security standards as well as an excellent infrastructure in combination with flexible models of support will guarantee the best operating conditions for NorthTelecom. The agreement underlines the relevance of teleport Usingen, the firm's outstanding technical standards and triggers new and successful ways of cooperation in the teleport- and broadcast market.

The CEO of NorthTelecom, Mr. Hadi Nazari Mehrab, added that this is a great opportunity for both parties and a new concept in the industry. NorthTelecom and Media Broadcast Satellite will share and exchange infrastructure and expertise while expanding their technical and commercial scope. Both companies are committed to a long-lasting cooperation.
