SSPI received received the following message from Janine Iannerelli, President of Par Avion, Ltd., and Start-up champion for the Southwest Regional Chapter of SSPI — the modified message follows...

I am spearheading a relief effort through the business aviation community.  We are mobilizing a fleet of bizjets from across the country that will deliver needed essentials to the surrounding area and the first flights started on Thursday, August 31.  I am in need of some assistance on the ground so if anyone is in a position to assist with the delivery of the items to various shelters/relief agencies, I would like to hear from you.

Also, if you have information about a shelter or relief agency in your area that is in need, please let me know.  The bizjets can ideally reach more rural areas, assuming the airport is open and accessible, and thereby offer more targeted support.  We have an army of upwards of 200 aircraft available for the collection and delivery of goods. I am particularly interested in reaching out to groups in Galveston county as my big concern is that the smaller groups may be overlooked in light of all the press the larger relief agencies in Harris county are getting.
