Axiomtek's New Pico-ITX SBC Motherboard is Small and Thin with Multiple I/O Options

This tiny motherboard is created to support a variety of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications, especially those with graphic-intensive and limited-space requirements including automation control, medical imaging, digital signage, gaming and more.

Axiomtek, a research, development and manufacturer of a series of innovative industrial computer products of high efficiency – is introducing its new PICO316, a palm-sized fanless pico-ITX motherboard featuring the low-power consumption Intel® Pentium® processor N4200 or Celeron® processor N3350 (codename: Apollo Lake SoC). This pico-ITX SBC is created to support a variety of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications, especially those with graphic-intensive and limited-space requirements including automation control, medical imaging, digital signage, gaming and more. The PICO316 comes with dual display capability through 18/24 single/dual channel LVDS and HDMI. It supports one DDR3L-1867 SO-DIMM system memory up to 8 GB, one SATA-600 connector and one full-size PCI Express Mini Card slot supporting mSATA.

Michelle Mi, a product manager of Product PM Division at Axiomtek said the tiny PICO316 offers a high flexibility with rich I/O options, a fanless design for longevity, a wide operating temperature range of -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C (-4 degrees F to +140 degrees F), and a +5V DC power supply input. The compact and slim design of the small form factor SBC ensures that it can fit into a variety of space constricting environments. The upcoming pico-ITX embedded board is a great choice for system integrators who are looking for a highly flexible and reliable embedded board targets the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) field.

The Intel® Apollo Lake-based pico-ITX single board computer comes with rich I/O connectivity, including two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 in type A, two USB 3.0 in type C, one Gigabit Ethernet (built-in Intel® Ethernet controller i211AT), two RS-232 ports and one audio.

To ensure reliable operation, it offers watchdog timer and hardware monitoring. The PICO316 also supports Axiomtek intelligent management software — "AXView" for smart device monitoring and management remotely. Moreover, the SMBus interface coming from EC (embedded controller) provides an appropriate interface for smart battery solution.

Axiomtek's PICO316 will be available in the end of February 2018.
