Forrester Reports: Bérenger Departs OneWeb

Journalist
Chris Forrester.

Posting this news at the Advanced TV infosite, journalist Chris Forrester is reporting that OneWeb has confirmed that Eric Bérenger has left the company, this occurring barely one month after he was ‘sideways’ promoted to the position of President/COO (from CEO).

OneWeb is the proposed mega-constellation of an initial 900 satellites, and the move could indicate some degree of unrest at the business founded by Greg Wyler, and backed financially by Japan’s Softbank, Intelsat, Richard Branson and others.

Berenger was named CEO in July 2015, and had admitted the position was a challenge. A new CEO, Adrian Steckel, was appointed in August — this is the fourth CEO since the company emerged in 2015.
