Goonhilly Earth Station Limited (GES) in Cornwall, England,  is growing and now has a new member of their team who will lead the Broadcast Services Development.

Simon Newman is joining the GES team. He previously worked for Discovery Communications, BBC World News and Globecast, and now will be using his commercial experience and technical knowledge to grow this part of the GES business.

GES is a pioneer in satellite broadcasting, with an excellent teleport location of East to West visibility—75W to 65E, and an inventory of large dishes that provide cost effective access to broadcast services.

Simon Newman, enthused by the new opportunity, commented, ‘I’m really excited to be working with the team at GES. Goonhilly holds a special place in the history of satellite broadcasting and, with GES’s commitment to the site, we have an outstanding platform on which to grow the business.'

GES Ltd and Simon are currently finalizing plans for IBC in Amsterdam from September 9th – 13th, and are eager to discuss plans with those in attendance.

Commercial Director Steve Jones says, "Having invested heavily in infrastructure to create a significant capability, GES are now in a position to deliver cost effective quality broadcast solutions. Simon is the right person to communicate our story to the sector community’.
