McMurdo's...Second Webinar...No Need To Search Any Further For Answers To Search + Rescue Systems

[SatNews] technological advancements will enhance distress beacon detection rates, improve location accuracy and reduce emergency response times to potentially save even more lives.

The next generation “MEOSAR” program is expected to revolutionize COSPAS-SARSAT satellite-based Search and Rescue systems – proven systems which have helped to save 5 lives per day since 1982. The new MEOSAR (Medium Earth Orbit Search and Rescue) system is currently in the Testing and Development stage and scheduled to go fully operational in 2018.  Yet many people affected by the search and rescue ecosystem know little about the exciting improvements MEOSAR will bring to the industry.

MEOSAR’s technological advancements will enhance distress beacon detection rates, improve location accuracy and reduce emergency response times to potentially save even more lives. Join in for the second in the three-part series to learn about this new system and how it will improve the Search and Rescue chain of events.

Participants will be taken through a brief review of the COSPAS-SARSAT search and rescue ecosystem, an overview of MEOSAR and how it differs from the current satellite systems in place and a discussion of how MEOSAR will potentially impact all five stages of the search and rescue process.

Presenters are Jerry Nardi and Mickey Fitzmaurice (see at right).
