Datum Systems Enjoys 28 Percent Growth In M7 Modular Satellite Modem Platform

[Satnews] Datum Systems, a privately-held provider in advanced satellite modems, today announced that 2015 was a record year, with an annual revenue growth of 28 percent, largely attributed to ramp-up sales of its M7 modular satellite modem platform.

“While some players in our industry might have experienced flat or even lower revenues associated with economic turmoil and paradigm shifts, Datum demonstrates once again the ability to deliver high-performance, future-proof systems,” said David Koblinski, VP Business Development and Marketing at Datum Systems. “We invested substantial R&D resources in our M7 product family, commercially released in 2014, which is now clearly paying off for Datum.  But most importantly, it is paying off for our customers who truly value the efficiency, flexibility and overall value of our platform.”

The M7 product family is a highly flexible, robust and spectral-efficient modem platform for provisioning SCPC-based networks over traditional FSS and high throughput satellites (HTS). The advanced M7 modems combine Datum´s industry-leading FlexLDPC coding with sharper roll-off filters and Datum´s unique “Smart Carrier” spectrum cancelation technology. Satellite service providers, telecom operators and government/military users can flexibly and economically design point-to-point or multipoint SCPC networks based on the near Shannon performance and modularity of the M7 system.
